A few weeks ago, we hosted a panel discussion with 14 brilliant minds to gain insights into why being part of the Rotary Family is so fulfilling. What unites us in Rotary is our shared commitment to “Service Above Self.” While wealth and friendships have their place, nothing compares to the deep satisfaction that comes from helping someone in need.

People join Rotary for various reasons—maybe they heard it’s where the cool people hang out, or perhaps they’re following a crush who’s a member. Human motivation varies, but before becoming a member, you need to be ready to serve.

During the panel discussion, we met with distinguished individuals—business owners, corporate leaders, legal experts, medical professionals, and coaches—people who are highly respected in their fields. Yet, our conversation focused less on their professional achievements and more on a deeper purpose: a genuine desire to serve and give back to the community.

Rotary is about classifications because it allows members to use their expertise to advocate for and support those in need. These classifications are not just about occupations; they’re about vocations—where your true passion lies. You might be an engineer who enjoys writing poetry or teaching nursery school kids on weekends. That passion is where you’ll find fulfillment, and that’s what Rotary encourages—serving in the areas that resonate most with you.

Listening to the panel discussion, I heard a passion for fighting injustice, a deep love for the youth, and a strong desire to engage with and mentor young minds. I sensed a yearning to be part of a circle of like-minded individuals—a network with a shared sense of purpose, where experiences are exchanged, and growth is mutual. By the end of the discussion, we knew we wanted to stay connected with these amazing people. In just a few days, 11 of them will be inducted and become members of the Rotary Club of Ntinda on Friday 23rd August, 2024 in a colourful ceremony starting at 7PM at Nob View Hotel, Ntinda and you Fam, are welcome to join us.

Living with purpose is about aligning your actions with your core values. When you serve others through Rotary, you tap into that deeper purpose, enriching your life and the lives of those around you. The key to fulfillment lies not just in what you achieve, but in the impact you have on others through purposeful action.
